A puppet created for the short stop-motion Using Your Head that I have since turned into a rigid display piece by adding a base and sealing the joints.
Made from a wire armature that has been coated in reinforced papier-mâché, painted, sealed and covered in rigid muslin.
The base was cut to size and donated by Entity Workshop. Its surface has been added to and painted, replicating a portion of the set used in the animation.
Found in the early eighteen hundreds on the old site of Bethlem Royal Hospital in Moorsfield, London, The Watchful Boy is an artefact left untouched by decay, vandalism and theft (until its final procurement), even though it sat in clear view amongst the ruins of one of the cells. The material of its crafting, along with its creator, still remain a mystery.
A doll with movable joints and a stand painted with a rust patina.
Made from wire, reinforced, painted and sealed papier-mâché, with resin components.
